Summertime....

Classes are almost out, and we're excited for to ease into summertime in Los Angeles.

Here's a few updates:
  • This summer we'll only be doing our deliveries on Tuesdays and Thursdays so that we can focus on being out in the USC neighborhood and breaking bread with people.
  • We'll be doing bread tables Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We'd love to have you come and hang out with us. Check our new Twitter feed at the top of the page to see where we're at!

400 loaves of Bicycle Bread delivered!

This past week we hit loaf #400!
Come on out Tuesday to the beautiful corner of Ellendale and 29th to eat fresh bread with us (if you are into that kind of thing)... We'll be there between 5pm and 7pm.
We've started to post some of the songs that we at Bicycle Bread Company like to listen to while we're making bread. Elbow, the band above, is one of our favourites. Check out 'Weather to Fly' as you start off your day. we like to keep it real when baking bread. (:

The Winner of the Question of the Week!

This week we placed our first Question of the Week on the Order form, and the results were spectacular. We decided that the best answer would win a special prize. This week's prize is a surprisingly exotic balloon sculpture! The winner of this week's QotW is.... Madeline Reddington

Question: If you were a dinosaur on the edge of extinction, what type of dinosaur would you be and why?

I'd probably be a 3-horn, which is what that mean little dinosaur "Sara" was in "The Land Before Time." The reason I'd want to be her is because she has a generally negative attitude and I guess if any dinosaur should go extinct, its her.

Mostly though, I just can't bring myself to knock off Little Foot or Petri.

Good job, Madeline. Your balloons are on the way;)

Runner Up!
Teradactyl, so I could watch the dino apocalypse from above. -
Luke Hall

Article In the Daily Trojan!

A lot of you guys have let us know that you read the article in the Daily Trojan on Monday! Thanks! The writer, Melissa Leu, really seemed to capture the vision behind the Bicycle Bread Company: to bake fresh bread, build relationships and serve the neighborhood.
If you haven't already read the article, here's the link: Brothers bring fresh bread to students via bicycle

One correction (to all of our vegan customers!): The story erroneously said that we use eggs to make the bread. None of our current breads involve eggs in any way;)

This Week's Experiment

Ni hao y'all!
After much deliberation we have decided that this week we will attempt to create a new type of delicious bread: Lemon-Cranberry Bread!
Although we haven't yet tried to make this type of bread, it sounds ridiculously good to us.
Drop by 29th and Ellendale on Tuesday between 5 and 7pm to chill with us and eat some bread.

In other excited news, we are on the brink of delivering our 300th loaf!

see y'all soon
